It has been a busy three weeks for me. I'm now beginning to pack up from the summer and turn my head towards the fall events. I've spent the last three weeks knee deep in our children and youth ministries. I have spent a week at PassportKids camp, the next week on a youth mission trip, and ended it with a week of very loud VBS.

Over these past three weeks many of you have asked, "Where do you get your energy from?" or "How do you keep going?" The answer is pretty simple. I keep going because this is what I love to do. God has called me to minister to our youth and children and that just happens to involve getting to have a lot of fun singing silly songs, dancing on the church bus with the youth, and getting slimed all in the name of sharing the joy and love that comes from living out your passion for Christ.

The last three weeks have been really fun for me and have given me a new passion for what God has called me to do. However, the fun that I had is not the most important by factor in my new found passion. The spiritual growth that I have been able to witness first hand in the lives of our youth and children is. These past three weeks I have been blessed to share with our group of energy packed 3rd to 5th graders as they set quietly and still while doing their own personally devotions. I have been able to see our youth step out of their comfort zones and love a convicted criminal, a homeless woman, and each other with the love of Christ. I have been able to see the excitement of 50 kids as they sing the praise of God during VBS.

I've seen and experienced God this past summer in the faces or our youth and children. These past three weeks have required a lot of energy and hard work from me. It has all be well worth it. Now I must set about cleaning out my office and the youth room and packing away all of the supplies from this summer. One thing I'm not going to pack up is this new found passion. Take sometime this week to do something to rediscover your passion for Christ.
