God is huge and cannot be summed up in a few words. It’s hard to explain the unexplainable. Jesus understood God. He was his father. No matter how familiar Jesus was with God, those who he was sent to did not have the same understanding. Jesus was given the task of explaining the unexplainable to those he met.
The solution for this huge task was simple: He must use the everyday items of the people to point them to God. In Mark 4, Jesus used farming and lighting to explain truths about God. Through the Parable of the Sower, Jesus illustrates the different types of people and their response to the news of God. In the next parable the lamp is used to show that faith in God should be displayed not hidden. Seeds are used in the next two parables to show growing faith.
Jesus used everyday items to explain faith and God. Jesus became all to all. Jesus was the healer to the sick, the teacher to the students, and the Savior of the lost. Faith is very personal. Jesus found a way to share his love for God in very personal ways to those he taught.
It is important for us as Christians to share our faith with those around us. When doing this, we need to remember that understanding faith and God is hard. It is our job to use our everyday lives as tools of sharing. We must use our lives as a way of connecting God to them and our lives as an example of what God can do. No one will believe your words about a loving God if they don’t see that God in your actions. Today live and speak for God.

Re: A Lamp, Some Seeds, and the Message
Thanks for the reminder that others are watching me. Jesus is our great example. To often we can talk a good talk but fail in walking the walk. I have found that people will watch us more than listen to us. If others see a difference in our lives then they will listen to our message.
