I have had an amazing two weeks. I spent last week at Passport Camp with some of our youth. I have spent this week getting ready for Vacation Bible School here at church. We kicked off VBS this morning with a wild and great group of kids. Today in VBS everyone got a bracelet that says, “Watch for God.”

It is nice to have a reminder to look for God in our everyday lives. God is always with us, but sometimes we forget to look for him. Imagine how much closer to God we would be if we spent time looking for him each day. We would see God in the big and the little things of life.

For the last two weeks, I have felt God all around me. I saw God last week in camp as I watched youth rededicate their lives to him. I heard about how they saw God and experienced God while playing with kids and cleaning up the earth. I saw God this morning as kids made crafts and played games. God is all around us. Take time this week to focus on seeing God.

I know you don’t have a cool bracelet to remind you to “Watch for God.” So, consider this your reminder.

Re: Watch for God

This past week of VBS was another amazing adventure into the minds of the little children that I live with, am related to, teach at preschool, see at church, and have just met for the first time. That is a broad range. One of the cohesive threads of this group that I helped teach was the age. They are amazingly open, and a lot less inhibited, in some ways, then the older kids.
This group brought me to tears a couple of times over the course of VBS. They were so innocent in their prayers during the lesson of the Passover. They all joined together the last time we watched the video and all danced and sang together in the "drive-in". All 10 of them at the same time! There were other public moments with other children but there were a few private ones at home, too. Aaron answered some question of Connor's with a Jesus is the answer. And vice-versa. Then we could use the Fear Not! during the storm during that week, too.
I find myself singing a couple of the songs myself, and feeling a lot better.
Thank you for taking the time to connect to our children(of all ages)-and feeling like we do when you see God in them! KWhiting
