Last night I went to see the Mount Olive College Concert Choir. They were amazing! I have gotten to know many of the students who are a part of the choir. They had all been telling me how great it was going to be. Each of the students I have meet are crazy talented. As a group they really were amazing. I really didn’t expect God to us the choir as an object lesson, but He did.

As I listened to their voices blend seamlessly together I noticed something about their movement. Not only were they perfectly together with their voices but also with their whole bodies. They turned pages, stood, and walked in perfect harmony. They even inhaled and exhaled in unison. I let my eyes focus not on certain singers but on the whole group. The group began to take on a new look to me. It looked not like a group of individuals working together but as an individual being. The group became one. If you want to witness this the MOC choir will be performing Dec. 3 at Southern Bank Auditorium at 7:00.

As I watched this new being I was reminded of 1 Corinthians 12. Here a picture of the body of Christ is drawn. The body is made up of different parts. Each individual part has special talents and gifts. However, they blend seamlessly together to create one being that is amazing. They form the church! Each part of the body is important and has a special job to do to ensure the body functions well. If one member of the body isn’t pulling their part the rest of the body suffers for it. So, are you doing your part for the body of Christ?
