For the past few years I have sponsored a child with Holt International. Each month I send a small amount of money to make sure my little child is taken care off. Throughout the year I get updates on my child. I get a picture too. The picture always ends up on my refrigerator. Around this time of year the people at Holt International send out a gift catalogue.
This year I got not only my gift catalogue but a shock. The cover girl on the catalogue was my child. She is my third and I have been sponsoring her for a little over a year. I always knew she was a cutie. Now, I have proof. She is a cover girl!
This past weekend I got an e-mail concerning my little girl in Haiti. She has been adopted! She will be joining a family very soon. My heart jumped with joy when I heard this. She is my third sponsored child to be placed with a loving family. The e-mail that told me about her also promised that very soon I would be getting a picture of my little child. I don’t know anything about my new child except his or her name is Rama. I am now eagerly waiting for this new child to come into my life. I’m even cleaning off a spot on my refrigerator for my new child.
During this season of Advent we are all waiting for the Christ child. Use this time to prepare your heart for the coming of the baby in a manger. If you need to clean out some space in your life for Christ, do it now. He’ll be here soon!
