I have some amazing friends. Until this week I hadn’t put together just how amazing some of my friends are. I’m thinking about three of my friends in particular. I have plenty of amazing friends but for the purpose of this blog, I’ll limit it to three friends I graduated with. I want to introduce you to them now.
I’ll start with Sarah. She is a middle school Spanish teacher. Without Sarah’s constant help I would have not made it through my college Spanish classes. I’ve been thinking about Sarah this week because she and her husband are on a mission trip to El Salvador. They will be back this weekend. Sarah is no stranger to mission trips. She has traveled to Greece and China to serve as a missionary during the Olympics. Sarah amazes me because she has found a way to share God’s love with people all over the world.
The second friend I want to introduce to you is Kim. She is currently working as a chaplain at two hospitals in South Carolina. Kim deals with life and death issues every day. She is the visual symbol of God to families and patients. I could never do what Kim does. Kim’s ability to bridge the gap between people and God during some very hard times amazes me. She has to be driven by a deep of love for people and God.
My third friend is Amanda. She is currently working with Haitian refugees who are being moved to Atlanta for medical treatment. She has always worked with refugees in a verity of Christian based ministries. The love and compassion that Amanda shows for people who have been forced to leave everything they know amazes me.
These amazing women are driven to reach out and help people by love. Next week we will celebrate Valentine’s Day, a day devoted to love. I’m going to ask you to reach out and share God’s love like these amazing women do. Maybe by sharing love we can make the world a better place.
